Ceremonial and Civic Responsibilities
An important part of the guild life is our ceremonial and feast calendar which includes guild and civic processions, Mystery plays and feast days where games, eating and drinking are the main object. It is this fun and community effort that bonds a guild together across race, sex and political boundaries.

“We are delighted that the Guild of Stonemasons will be starting their Corpus Christi Procession from the West front of the Cathedral. This is a very important day in the Christian calendar as we think about Jesus giving us the gift of the Holy Communion service by which to remember him day by day.
It is also wonderful in an ancient city like Norwich to have these traditional processions through the streets revived and to see the apprentices participating in this way.”
The Very Rev. Jane Hedges, Dean of Norwich Cathedral, 2017
