Christmas Procession

Guild members took to the streets of Norwich on 15th December for their annual Winter Procession. Thanks to the many Guild friends and City Guides who joined us despite the inclement weather.

Christmas Carols

The traditional Guild Carol Service was, this year, enhanced by an atmospheric re-telling of Dickens' A Christmas Carol by storyteller, Andy Jennings - 8th Deccember.

Christmas Open Day

The Norwich Guild Lodge opened to the public on 5th December and visitors were offered tours of the working Lodge and demonstrations of craft skills from Guild Apprentices.

Norfolk Record Office Talk

On 12th December, The Master of The Guild gave a ticketed talk at The Archive Centre (home of The Norfolk Record Office) entitled: Understanding Medieval Churches - Insights From a  Craft Guild. 12th December

Fire and Flint Festival

On 23rd September, The Master and several apprentices appeared at this street festival in Brandon, Norfolk, offering craft demonstrations and talking to the public.

Heritage Open Days 2017

The Guild participated in several free events in Norwich between 8th-11th September and met and spoke to hundreds of visitors from the county and further afield

Michaelmas Procession

On 8th September, Guild members were pleased to be joined by The Lord Mayor of Norwich City, Cllr. David Fullman and his Sheriff, Cllr. David Walker for the annual Autumn procession.

Radio Norfolk Feature

On 24th August, reporter Wally Webb visited the Norwich Guild Lodge to interview Guild members for a programme on BBC Radio Norfolk.

Oulton Chapel Festival

On 15th July, a Guild Apprentice attended this popular Norfolk village fair to give craft demonstrations and talk about the work of The Guild.

Norwich Castle Museum

On 7th July, several of the apprentices, The Master and other Guild members gave demonstrations and spoke to visitors at The Norwich Castle. 

Corpus Christi Festival 

The Guild marked this festival in the traditional way with performances of the stonemasons' mystery play, Cain and Abel and a Guild procession - 16th and 17th July.

Call to The Guild

15th June marked the first official ceremony calling new members to The Guild. Amongst others, seven craft Apprentices signed their indentures at this ceremony held in the beautiful Trinity Guildhall in King's Lynn. Covered in Lynn News.

Museum At Night

As part of the National Museums At Night programme, Guild members and Apprentices gave carving demonstrations and talks in the keep and donjon of The Norwich Castle Museum on 20th May. 

The Courtauld Institute

Members of The Courtauld Institute of Art's Sculptural processes group visited The Norwich Lodge on 6th May for a tour and talk from The Guild Master.

Flintspiration

Between 29th April and 1st May, The Guild took part in several events for the debut of this hugely successful local event celebrating the fantastic medieval churches of Norwich.

St. George's Day

On April 23rd, the Guild Apprentices unveiled a new player in their St. George's day mystery play performances, the almighty dragon, Davina.

Exuberance Is Beauty

In January and February, Guild members took up residence in the cloister garth of Norwich Cathedral.  In a portable Lodge, they gave craft demonstrations to compliment the David Holgate Retrospective Exhibition in the hostry.

Wren Day Procession 

The first Guild Procession of the calendar year is traditionally held on or near Wren Day. This year, it took place on 24th January, setting off from the West front of Norwich Cathedral.
